Stuck waiting for a train yesterday evening, at a country-side crossing that’s rarely used, I had to check three times to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. When you expect the regular and mundane, and suddenly see the unexpected, you sometimes doubt your sanity. Rather than a regular old train I saw a train with more lights than an apartment building, Christmas trees all over, and pulling wagons equally decorated. Turns out it’s the CP Holiday Train, which was on it’s way to Cambridge, raising food and funds for food banks. It visits six provinces and seven states every year. A picture that somewhat resembles what I saw is here.
