There is always an official way, a prescribed way, or a “proper” way to get something done. But when the resources simply aren’t available to do something the proper way, improvisation is the key, and usually poorer countries are far better at it than the wealthier nations. Have a look at these pictures. Noone in Europe or North America would dream of unloading a container ship in anything other than a prescribed container ship port, with proper cranes, trains, etc. The ingenuity of these fellows, albeit a bit dangerous, is remarkable.
